So. I didn’t actually learn this until a few years ago but multiple archaeologists claim they have found what they believe to be the remains of the most famous sea going vessel in all of history; Noah’s Ark. Originally, The ship-shaped site was discovered in 1959 by Captain Ilhan Durupinar, an expert cartographer. For most people, the thought of Noah’s Ark being a real thing that actually existed is a far stretch for the imagination, but what these guys have discovered in a remote region of Turkey might just challenge that perception.

Resting at the bottom of mount Ararat in the furthest eastern part of Turkey, lies a buried structure that seems to be an almost exact match for what the world knows as Noah’s Ark. The bible tells us that Noah was instructed to build the ark to escape God’s wrath and the worldwide flood that was about to be brought upon the earth. The bible actually gives a decent bit of information on Noah’s ark including dimensions! How mad is that! And whatever it is that’s laying at the bottom of mount Ararat seems to match those dimension quite nicely. Plus, it’s not often you find an ancient boat at the bottom of a mountain that is in the middle of what is now a dessert.

Did you know that there are actually hundreds of legends of a great world wide flood told by cultures all around the world? So the biblical account of a worldwide flood isn’t just a random “It probably didn’t happen” story from the bible as many cultures recorded such a thing actually happening.
